Well Being and Leisure

The Estate

Le Chatenet, an estate of 6 hectares, less than 10 minutes walk from Brantôme, above the little town and the Dronne Valley.  You can walk through the vaulted passage along the house, walk along the century old hornbeam lined alley that leads to the pigeonnier, formerly a refuge for Santiago de la Compostela pilgrims.  The park is strewn with fruit trees and fragrant bushes, wild orchids, walnut orchard, roses, lily of the valley, wisteria and fruit trees.  Or choose to accompany us on a walk with the goats and sheep, we'll see dragonflies and butterflies.

Well Being and Leisure

Apart from the comfort of the house you can at your leisure meander, play a game of pool in the club house, have tea on the terrace, relax by the pool or play tennis or badminton.  We also offer Reiki, hot stone massages and other treatments upon request.

Activities

The Pool

The heated swimming pool and its surroundings offer the perfect place to unwind, lunging in the greenery in the sun or in the shade of the mulberry trees.  Children must be accompanied by parents.   The pool is open from May till September only.

The clubhouse, tennis ground, badminton and table tennis.

The bar, billard table, library and other games.    We also put at your disposition, two fridges, crockery and cutlery so that you might enjoy and prepare light lunches or BBQs to be eaten in the cool air of the club or in the shade of the linden trees.  During the winter, the chimney also offers a cosy corner where to sit, play or just read a book.

Brantôme

In the heart of Green Périgord, trekkers have a wide choice of routes to follow, and cyclists will be charmed by the rolling hills of the region where bell towers indicate a wide array of villages nestled in the valleys.

Brantome is a small town in bloom, visit its mediaeval abbey and its cloister, St Roch's tower or the grotto of the Last Judgement, the Medici Fountain, the Monks Garden, and the seven bridges over the Dronne River to step onto the island that is the town of Brantôme. You can take a river cruise or hire canoes; horse riding and golf are also available in and around the Venise of Perigord.
